The Nature Of You…
Ok, this is it peeps! This is the moment we’ve all been waiting for! Why?
Because this Taurus New Moon provides us all an oasis in the desert, a respite if you will, and an opportunity to plant new seeds…
What kinds of seeds, you ask?
That’s simple! Seeds of self-love!
You see, the sign of Taurus–ruled by the planet Venus–is all about values. This archetype rules the 2nd House in our charts naturally, which has to do with money and possessions, and how we earn a living…
However, the Taurean archetype is first and foremost about relationships. And what’s been on the front burner lately in our lives, especially since last fall?
You got it—relationships!
Pop quiz: What’s the most important relationship in your life?
Give yourself a gold star if you answered THE ONE WITH YOURSELF!
Taurus is about the physical body, our five senses, and what gives us pleasure.
Since that which gives us pleasure is what we value most, these are the things we pursue in life. This 6-7 degree Taurus New Moon provides us all the opportunity to plant new seeds of self-worth, self-love, and self-compassion.
Why? In order to have mirrored back to us by others the loving relationship we have with ourselves!
Sow What You Want To Reap
Only once we grasp the concept that we are worthy of receiving love from ourselves FIRST (Taurus is a yin energy), may we then begin the harder internal work of understanding that love is an inside job!
In order to attract to us healthy, loving relationships—ones that reflect back to us by others our own secure unshakable sense of self-love and security—can we manifest trusting, loving, peaceful, satisfying relationships with others…
Venus, the ruler of this Taurus New Moon and the sign through which the Sun is currently traversing (and Jupiter too since it’s in Venus-ruled Libra), recently conjoined with wounded healer Chiron in Pisces to square Saturn in Sagittarius.
This was–and still is–a clear call to go deep about where our own beliefs have wounded us in the past…
Venus, separating from this square and now in the last degree of Pisces, moves into Aries on April 28. What’s clear with 20/20 hindsight is that when Venus configured herself into the Chiron square Saturn aspect—still prevalent at this Taurus New Moon—she asked us to look at something very specific:
That which has wounded us in the realm of our beliefs about both our own lovability and how that factors into how we value our own sense of self-worth in partnership.
As with anything we plant, physical or metaphorical, it serves us best at this Taurus New Moon to nurture and grow our beliefs around self-esteem and self-compassion. How else can these beliefs fully blossom and/or renew themselves into external people who reflect back to us our own loving self?
While Taurus is a physical sign, of the body and the senses, it’s not known as particularly proactive energy, although when the bull puts her mind to something she can move a mountain. This kind of sheer physical dedication to a goal can be applied now to the planting of these seeds of self-love.
So take the time, don’t rush. Mercury retrograde ends next week, but he’s right now in the sign of Aries, cautioning us to slow down and smell the roses, an endeavor with which this Taurus New Moon is in full agreement. Although conjoined with Uranus, which might bring some sudden or surprising news, Mercury’s trine to Saturn indicates we’ll handle it well and that slow and steady wins the race…
Reject Your Body, Reject Yourself
When we attempt to go deep in order to begin to heal from childhood or past life wounds, especially those concerning the body, it’s good to remember that when we reject our bodies (or any parts of them) we set ourselves up to perpetuate future woundedness.
Often, it comes down to a simple matter of perception. If we were told, taught, or forced to perceive our bodies as bad, negative, shameful, ugly/hideous, undesirable, not sexy, inadequate, disabled, or in any other way less than, this is a wound we may still be carrying around with us now.
Emotional, mental, or physical pain around the body may stem from some kind of rejection which lessened our confidence and weakened our sense of self-worth long ago…
Think about how your own sense of your body’s value may have kept you from manifesting the kinds of loving relationships you desire…after all, why should someone love your body if you hate it?
Remember, we manifest externally people, jobs, money, & possessions based on what we feel internally we deserve. If—in our deepest darkest subconscious psyches— we believe we are undeserving, we will conjure up people and circumstances that repeatedly “prove” this to us.
This is true, regardless of what our ego-oriented brains tell us we should believe–not only about our physical selves, but about other parts of us as well, including our emotions, intelligence, faith, creativity, etc. If we resist positive change, we’ll continually fall far short of the mark of manifesting true love and acceptance.
The Taurus New Moon reminds us to stop, smell the flowers, contemplate nature and its majestic wonder, stillness, and beauty, and to recognize that we are all external manifestations of the beautiful and spiritually harmonious energies of the divine.
The Bible says we are made in the image of God, and one does not have to be religious to understand this in a more metaphorical, less literal, context.
Loving your body is key, regardless of what you thought about it up until now.
Prevalent at this Taurus New Moon is the potential to heal any wounding beliefs we have both about our bodies and the physical world. Doing so allows us to see more clearly, and with discernment, that resisting only mires us more deeply in the myopic chaos of a mostly subjective set of beliefs.
In Love With The Shape Of You…
As the transiting nodes get ready to shift out of Pisces/Virgo on May 9 we’re reminded that the North Node in Virgo for the past 19 months has made us more aware of our daily routines and rituals.
This Taurus New Moon reminds us of the transiting North Node in Virgo’s message: honor the body and all things pleasurable, not only because we deserve them and because we are beings who hail from the realm of the divine, but because we are worthy of receiving love…
Remember, the Moon is an archetypal energy that, among other things, represents the strength of our habitual behavior. When we look in the mirror and grimace, or otherwise criticize or judge ourselves, what are we doing really?
Are we simply echoing an attitude aimed at us by others from our past? Might we have incorporated these criticisms and judgments into our own psyches’ subconscious without realizing it?
If so, now is our opportunity to consciously work on transforming these habits! Negative knee-jerk thoughts—both conscious and unconscious—require first recognition, then proactive change.
It’s not too late to make it a daily habit/ritual to praise yourself in some way every day and to begin to look in the mirror and tell yourself with gusto I love you!
Make time to take a walk-in nature to clear your mind from the chaos, so your higher self and authentic voice can come through and remind you of that which you already know: that you are LOVE…
The Moon will begin to wax and grow in strength and body over the next two weeks just as seeds take root and begin to draw sustenance from the fertile soil that allows all plants to grow tall, healthy, and strong.
Meditate on drawing out hidden sustenance for the parts of us we may deem too ugly to show anybody else. Only then can we love, exhibit compassion, and express forgiveness for them so that we may integrate them and thus become whole…
It benefits us all now to think in terms of how we want to move forward in our lives feeling strong and unashamedly self-loving…
I suggest we think about Ed Sheeran’s song The Shape Of You, but in terms of being in love with ourselves!
“I’m in love with the shape of you
We push and pull like a magnet do
Although my heart is falling too
I’m in love with your body…
Last night you were in my room
And now my bedsheets smell like you
Every day discovering something brand new
I’m in love with your body…
Every day discovering something brand new
I’m in love with the shape of you…
Sheeran appears to me to be an Aries Moon conjunct Venus, though I can’t say or sure since we lack his exact birth time.
This video is certainly a testimony to Aries energy somewhere in his chart, though with both the sweetness and attention to gentle & loving physical attraction, I’d say he’s strongly Venusian, too…
Granted, the video’s a bit silly at the end, but the music is worth it so have a look & listen, and judge for yourself!
