Aries New Moon, Mercury Direct, Chiron Into Aries!

Posted by Sheri Horn Hasan - April 19, 2018 - Blog post

Shoot For (Not At) The Moon

This Aries New Moon may have a shock or two in store for us–of the “change or be changed!” kind–when the two luminaries in this proactive fire sign collide with Uranus, the symbol of unexpected events, also in Aries.

There’s an awful lot of cardinal energy at this Aries New Moon, what with not

only the Moon, Sun, Uranus, & Mercury in Aries, but Saturn, Mars, & Pluto in Capricorn, too.

Cardinal energy is initiative and Aries energy impatient.

The Moon will meet the Sun at 27 degrees & 2 minutes of Aries @6:57 pm PT

& 9:57 ET on April 15 & go on to conjoin with Uranus about four hours later. To say this energy holds the potential to be explosive would be an understatement!

This Aries New Moon brings the two luminaries & Uranus together into the energy force field of the proactive & action-oriented warrior, athlete, or otherwise motivated individual. It’s meet up with Uranus indicates we may be impatient because on some level—conscious or unconscious–we know that we are ripe for some kind of change.

At March 31’s Libra Full Moon I suggested we all think about the following:

How can we find greater balance between going it alone & getting our own needs met?

Whatever answers you came up with at the time are part of what will hit home for you at this Aries New Moon. Whatever decisions you procrastinated making–or perhaps made too hastily–may come back to you now through some sort of change, particularly in the realm of partnerships.

Whenever Uranus is involved, we astrologers also know that the longer we’ve spent resisting change, the more sudden and surprising that change is likely to be. Some the questions you might want to ask yourself now include:

  •  Where have I been feeling frustrated, depressed, or dissatisfied with my life?
  • How has this made me feel: angry, frightened, impatient, sad, or in some other way unhappy?
  •  How do I process fear around the thought of change, and actual changitself? Do I resist it, welcome it, or something in between?

    Over The Moon…

So, remember I mentioned that Saturn, Mars, & Pluto are in Capricorn at this Aries New Moon? Well, not only that, but during the hours leading up to the Aries New Moon the Moon will square Saturn, then Mars, and then Pluto.

These past few days may have seemed up and down for some of us, and turbulence the name of the game. For those who pay attention to the national & international scene, U.S. President Trump last week said he wanted to pull U.S. troops out of Syria soon.

He then announced on Wednesday that he’d rain down missiles on Syria in retaliation for the gassing of its own citizens earlier this week. On Thursday he said he might OR he might not. Friday evening he launched the threatened missile strike, joined by French & British allies.

What’s THIS got to do with your life?

As I’ve noted before, it’s important for those of us attempting to grow in consciousness not to separate the outer world from the inner, but rather to integrate these two energies so that our inner self is in greater attunement with the world around us. If we create our own reality, then we must first define what that “reality” is, right?

So, we can use outer events—even those that may not happen TO us directly, yet still affect us in one way or another—to better understand how the collective’s energy has manifested externally.

In this case, as we’re approaching the exact joining of the Aries Sun to the planet Uranus on April 18–and it’s as this energy grows in strength that we’ll be experiencing the Aries New Moon on the 15th–we can tell what’s going on internally by recognizing how these energies manifest externally.

We can see how the past week or so has been filled with ups and downs, twists & turns, one step forward one step back type energy. And those who are metaphysically-minded also know that “as above, so below, as within so without, as the universe, so the soul…”

This Aries new Moon is a force to be reckoned with because it’s as if once the train has started down the track, it’s hard to stop it. Its forward motion is exacerbated by its pending meet up with Uranus because the combination of Mars (ruler of this Aries New Moon) & Uranus is like a speeding train (or missile) with no brake…

Evolution Vs. Revolution

Pluto in Capricorn has been about the long-term evolutionary trajectory of changing the way we do “business as usual.” Saturn in this sign of ambition & success tells us “slow & steady wins the race,” while Mars in Capricorn is like the general leading the army with deliberation, & planned & well thought out strategies designed to “win.”

While Mars continues to wax into an exact meet up with Pluto in Capricorn onApril 26, it pays to bear in mind that–although Capricorn energy is cautious,

slow, & steady—Mars/Pluto energy is extremely powerful, and not to be underestimated in its potential for explosiveness…   So, while this Aries New Moon challenges us to find new and innovative ways to allow change to happen–but through a measure of controlled action—it pays for us to be aware that Mars will increasingly push his call for action onto evolutionary-minded Pluto!

So, the message becomes both dichotomousand clear: change is coming, but how we decide to handle that change is up to each of us individually. If the spark that ignites change propels an unstoppable juggernaut into action, we might want to be sure it’s heading in the right evolutionary direction.

Therefore, how we all handle any resistance to change through clinging to old ways: mindsets, beliefs, loyalties, security (including to the material world) is key at this Aries New Moon.

If we’re blindsided now, all the more reason to let go; but only to the point where you can hang on loosely! Steering will become important as you go, so keep this mind: sudden actions, be they fortuitous or grievous, can still be handled, and handled well. The key is not to panic or to lose one’s head altogether…

Material Re-E-Value-Ation

Also at this Aries New Moon, Venus in Taurus opposes Jupiter retrograde in Scorpio. This tells us that our values are up for E-VALUATION, and as we pursue our evolutionary course, hopefully consciously, we may also contemplate where or how our values may be out of sync with our true soul’s needs.

   Huh?

This means we can all ask ourselves the question now: Is what we think wewant really what our soul truly needs?

This is always the case with frictional Venus/Jupiter aspects. Jupiter expands, Venus wants what makes her feel good. Both are well-advised to stop and ask whether it’s quantity that will bring true happiness, or quality…

Venus trines Pluto now, too, and from Taurus to Capricorn can be a grounding influence. Just as the slowly building Capricorn Mars/Pluto energy will eventually counterbalance the quickness of Uranus at this Aries Full Moon & beyond, so may this trine temper it as well.

Remember, however, that Mars/Pluto is about evolutionary change while the more fleeting Venus/Jupiter energy is about our true values. And Venus, of course, is also about relationships…

As the Aries New Moon takes up where the March 31 Libra Full Moon left off, it also pays for us to ask whether we find more success in going it alone or together. And, either way, what is our evolutionary end-goal?

Mercury Direct–Wiser Through The Ages!

Mercury stations direct early morning April 15, about 16 hours before the Aries New Moon exacts, and this coming week communication should slowly begin to return to normal.

Wait, watch, & listen for it—your phone will ring, your email will ping, your texts will chime, and letters appear in your mailbox…it’s almost like all will return to normal.

As you begin to wind your way back into the flow of all things communicative, remember this: you’ve just spent 21 days during which your left brain has been suspended, and your right brain reigned supreme.

This is primarily why so many astrologers caution against signing contracts, buying high ticket items, etc.—for fear that our normally logical, empirically-oriented brains will miss the details, the small print, the bottom line.

And often this is true, but let’s remember also that this has been a period during which our psyches have brought up from our subconscious into consciousness important messages from our soul’s higher self. Likewise, objectively learned information was transferred down into the unconscious to become embedded there as true wisdom.

And it’s this wisdom that will be carried with your soul into future lifetimes, just as the wisdom from prior lifetimes was embedded in your psyche to make you as wise as you are today! (Don’t snicker—regardless of any mistakes you feel you’ve made since birth in this incarnation, your soul has to have learned a thing or two from past life karma!)

Saturn Retrogrades & Chiron Into Aries April 17

This coming week will see Saturn station retrograde, Chiron move into Aries– both on April 17–and on April the Sun moves into harmonizing Taurus.

The keyword for Taurus archetypal energy is “serenity,” and hopefully this is what we we’ll all strive for during the next month.

Saturn’s retrograde period—which lasts until September 6—is a one during which if anyone or anything leaves our life it means they were not instrumental to our future growth…in consciousness…

Any departure now—of a person, a job, a material possession—means you have no use for them or it in the future, and the astrological advice is to let it go…often this is one of the hardest lesson to learn…

Yes, it’s true that Saturn can bring tears, sadness, isolation, lonliness, &depression, but please, please, pleaseremember that his mission is ultimately a positive one: to help us all understand that we can make it on our own!

This is to say we don’t need anyone or anything—contrary to what our feelings may tell us—to survive. And, as time passes, not only does a departure create space for a new arrival, but being able to stand on our own means we get to choose who and what we want in our lives rather than simply having to accept what we get!

How glorious to know that if the world were to disappear right in front of our very eyes, we’ve got what it takes to survive because we are our own best friend, nurturer, and authority!

Saturn always says “the buck stops here,” and his purpose is to mature us ot the point where we can sustain any setbacks and not only survive, but thrive, because we always know we have ourselves to depend on and trust.

   And that’s a good thing…

Chiron’s another story, as he moves from the watery Piscean domain he’s inhabited for the past eight years into fiery independent proactive Aries energy on April 17 until June 19, 2026. (He will retrograde back into Pisces twice during this period, but more on that anon…)

Chiron’s move into Aries tells us all the time is ripe to begin (or continue) to heal wounds around any inability to express our personal will, be it on a mental, physical, emotional, or spiritual level.

So plant new seeds now at this Aries New Moon that state your intentions: if you’ve been too dependent on others for your own happiness, use this time to nurture & grow self-confidence & self-love.

If you’ve been too independent, & in being this way denied your own need for nurturing, take this Aries New Moon opportunity to institute into your life some self-care and perhaps explore where you might unburden yourself through the help of another or others.

Let’s face it, most of us did not come here to be alone. But neither did most of us come here to remain co-dependent our whole lives. Use the enegies of this potentially explosive change-oriented Aries New Moon to recognize in what area of life change is necessary, roll with it, but then seize the tiller & navigate your way toward your desired evolutionary future!

Here’s a song that I think perfectly fits this Aries New Moon energy:
Bob Dylan’s revolutionary ode, covered by Tracy Chapman

The Times They Are A’Changin’

Tracy Chapman

“Come gather ’round people
Wherever you roam
And admit that the waters
Around you have grown

And accept it that soon
You’ll be drenched to the bone
If your time to you
Is worth savin’
Then you better start swimmin’
Or you’ll sink like a stone
For the times they are a-changin’

Come writers and critics
Who prophesize with your pen
And keep your eyes wide
The chance won’t come again

And don’t speak too soon
For the wheel’s still in spin
And there’s no tellin’ who
That it’s namin’
For the loser now
Will be later to win
For the times they are a-changin’

Come senators, congressmen
Please heed the call
Don’t stand in the doorway
Don’t block up the hall
For he that gets hurt
Will be who has stalled

The battle outside ragin’
Will soon shake your windows
And rattle your walls
For the times they are a-changin’

Come mothers and fathers
Throughout the land
And don’t criticize
What you can’t understand

Your sons and your daughters
Are beyond your command
Your old road is rapidly agin’
Please get out of the new one
If you can’t lend your hand
For the times they are a-changin’

The line it is drawn
The curse it is cast
The slow one now
Will later be fast

As the present now
Will later be past
The order is rapidly fadin’
And the first one now
Will later be last
For the times they are a-changin’…”
~ Bob Dylan

Aquarius Full Moon August 18

Posted by Sheri Horn Hasan - August 30, 2016 - Astrology

The Aquarius Full Moon–when the Aquarius Moon opposes the Leo Sun in the sky– reminds us to work on integrating the shadow side of Leo archetypal energy.

What does that mean?

Well, if Leo is about being in the moment, creating with the reckless abandon of an innocent child, intuiting our own divinity through our creative self-expression, what would be its shadow side?

The downside of Leo energy can be excessive pride. It’s a fire sign which, like Jupiter’s Sagittarius, has connotations with what Greek tragedians define as “hubris” or the tragic hero’s greatest flaw: arrogance.

It stands to reason that such blazing “it’s all about me, you know!” energy—although it’s well and good for us to be proud of ourselves and our accomplishments in a healthy way—can turn out to be the downfall of many when taken to an extreme…

Stand Out From The Group Or Be Part Of It?

Logic says that if the Leo archetype’s sometimes myopic viewpoint is that of caring only for or about oneself, then its Aquarius polar opposite energy would represent being part of a group.

For some of us, being part of a group is a natural, easy thing. For others, it’s tremendously difficult, for a varied number of reasons. And for even more of us, it might go back and forth, sort of a love/hate kinda thing…

This Aquarius Full Moon asks us to identify where our own specialness ends, and the group begins. Being proud of a group, or groups, to which we belong is also terrific. However, we must be aware that bringing our uniqueness to a group—and then identifying with that group–lends itself to our having a certain pride in that group.

This, again, is fine, but we must be careful not to use these groups as factions to pit against each other when the going gets tough…

Us Vs. Them

In today’s world, one need only glance at a newspaper, listen to talk radio, peruse Facebook, or simply tune into the speech of a current political candidate to hear it: protectionism, xenophobia, and general “my group is better than your group” rhetoric.

While often nationalism is chalked up astrologically to Cancer archetypal energy (the family, clan, tribe, community, etc.), and disputes between rival factions—or the “I/Thou” or “I/We” or “Us vs. Them” Aries/Libra relationship axis–nonetheless I pose the following question:

Might not the concept of being either the “special one” or the “special group” belong also with the astrological energy of the Leo/Aquarius axis?

In other words, once you get to the point of identifying yourself with a particular group, isn’t there always going to be an “us vs. them” mentality in the air, even if it’s less overt than outright xenophobia, nationalism, or other kind of favoritism?

Aquarius energy believes in sacrificing the few for the many in the hopes that this will make life better for all. But when this energy is misused it can translate into group-think of the mindset that we need a savior or–special anointed person–to save us all…

Now, clearly, we’re getting into other archetypes, and it’s easy to see how astrology is never really purely about one archetype or another, but a mixture of many. And the art of putting it all together, or synthesis, is the talent proclaimed by many astrologers.

But we are looking here now at this Aquarius Full Moon and the universe is asking us to identify not only where our own specialness ends, but where the uniqueness of one particular group ends as well.

A shift into thinking about what’s best for the whole, rather than its parts, becomes paramount. It may, in fact, be time for many of us to shift from thinking “what’s in it for me?” or “what’s in it for my group?” to “what’s in it for the rest of wo/mankind?”

Aquarius energy morphs into Pisces energy on the zodiacal wheel, and it’s easy to see why. Once we work for the betterment of wo/mankind, we’re able to tap into the unconscious collective and to actually implement unity on a more conscious level.

Aquarius Full Moon Energy

At this Aquarius Full Moon, the Moon sextiles Uranus (the modern ruler of Aquarius), while the Sun trines it. The opportunity exists for us all to use freedom of expression of our true selves—both as individuals and as members of groups–to help further the cause of our fellow human beings.

At the same time, the Moon quincunxes Jupiter, the king of the gods, as the Sun semi-sextiles the same planet. As brilliant ideas are downloaded (if not for immediate use, then perhaps for the future) try not to overdo it! Keep in mind that even though the idea may not be solidly formed yet, nobody else has thought it but you—for now!

So don’t let yourself get too scattered, which will only see the seeds of your ideas blown about and away with the wind…you’ll want to be able to preserve your ideas so that you can run with them when it’s time…

Infinite Possibilities…

Kim Marie Weimer of Evolutionary Astrology Network is fond of saying that Leo energy represents an “I will, thy will, divine will” evolutionary concept, and I do agree with her on that.

Think of it this way: If you are but a speck of dust on the head of a pin, surrounded by more specks of dust on the head of that pin, surrounded by other groups of specks of dust on a bunch of pins, you begin to grasp the resonance of Aquarius energy with the archetype of the infinite.

What each speck does ripples out like waves on the shore of a beach and touches us all. It’s simply that we may not be conscious of this.

So it starts with Leo energy in terms of being the best, most creatively self-expressed individual you can be—not for praise and adulation or remuneration—but just because you know you represent that speck of dust on that infinite, divinely-orchestrated, universe. And as such, you owe it to both your chosen group and the wider group to shine your light so that they may ALL benefit from it, and to take it one step further to then work within that group to achieve progress on a universal level.

Just as the Sun will move on from the sign of Leo to take on Virgo attributes very shortly (August 22), so will our next Full Moon a month from now occur between the Virgo Sun and Pisces Moon.
There is a reason for everything. And the flow of these universal archetypal energies is constant and consistent.

My advice?

See if you can figure out how, by bringing your own unique individual talents to your chosen group or groups–not only to strengthen them but also to strengthen their bonds with other groups—you can help promote peace, love, and unity to all of wo/mankind…

Mars Stations Retrograde April 17

Posted by Sheri Horn Hasan - April 22, 2016 - Astrology

K, listen up my astro buds! While it’s important to “get” what’s happening energetically when Mars stations retrograde, we must remind ourselves that nothing astrological happens within a vacuum.

A look at the bigger picture is always necessary so that one may fit into an overall heavenly context what is happening with—or because of–one particular planet.

The God Of War Retreats…

Mars stations retrograde—appears to stop in his tracks and move backward—on April 17. He will move from 8 degrees Sagittarius to 23 Scorpio before he stations direct—appears to stop and move forward again–on June 29.

On July 2 Mars re-enters Sagittarius and on August 2 he will find his way back to 8 degrees Sagittarius which is where this whole retrograde cycle began.

Meanwhile, transiting Saturn, which stationed retrograde on March 25 (and will remain so until he stations direct on August 13) will remain in retrograde motion for the entire time that Mars does his backstroking through the heavens…

What do we remember about what happens when Saturn stations retrograde?

That’s right: people/relationships, jobs, material things/stuff that’s no longer instrumental to our future growth (let me say that again, loud and clear: no longer instrumental to your future growth in consciousness!) may disappear from our lives.

While this may make us sad, remorseful, guilty, angry, resentful, apt to play the victim, and/or any of the above, rest assured the universe has your back. Nothing is being taken away that’s supposed to stay with you—for now, at least…

Get It Done Or Let It Go When Mars Stations Retrograde?

Mars stations retrograde approximately every two years and is a time when the “normal” function of the planet Mars changes. Rather than its usual modus operandi of taking action and seeing what comes back as a result, the Mars retrograde period is a time of being reactive rather than proactive.

Remember, Mars in general serves as the energy that allows us to move, act, think, and express freely and unfettered. When we have a repressed or suppressed capability to do so—whether based on circumstances real or imagined—then we are in possession of a less than healthy Mars energy.

So Saturn retrograde is a period when we’re busy trying to understand who or what our soul no longer needs to rely upon in our journey toward greater consciousness. Or, put another way, to discover who or what do we need to stop relying upon because we are capable—ultimately—of providing for ourselves our OWN salvation.

Meanwhile, the Mars retrograde period—which falls within the shadow of Saturn’s retrograde cycle (like a wheel within a wheel)—may herald the cessation or delay of any particular project one is working on or ambition one harbors.

Likewise, one’s will may suddenly change, and passion for people, jobs, and things dissipate. Mars retrograde does not guarantee this, however, but it is a time for introspection and contemplation, according to psychological astrologer Erin Sullivan.

“In a situation where action is involved, such as working on a project with a time-goal in mind, the station of Mars retrograde can literally postpone the venture,” Sullivan writes in her book “Retrograde Planets.”

“It may even terminate it, should it have been completely in appropriate for the long term. Sudden reversals of interest (passion) and drive (ambition) are likely to occur during the retrograde phase. An internal battle ensues between the ego which wants things done and the soul which wants to be.”

Are Your Desires In Alignment With Your Beliefs?

Mars retrogrades in the sign of Sagittarius between April 17 and May 27 (before it continues its backward motion into Scorpio from May 27 to June 29.) During this period, we are tasked with going deep about whether or not our beliefs are in sync with our words and our actions.

“Retrogrades cause withdrawal from the status quo in order to redefine our own personal, individual natural law,” according to Kim Marie Weimer of the Evolutionary Astrology Network in her recent lecture on Mars Retrograde.

During this Mars retrograde “we’ll be asked to let go of any desires that are no longer in alignment with our belief systems…especially as we are evolving these belief systems,” Weimer explains.

“Mars retrograde in Sagittarius can’t expand—it’s stuck on the fence line looking over at the other side, stamping its feet because it can’t go forward. It’s asking us to review and evolve all of our beliefs before we can be successful in taking action.”

Weimer recommends looking to Sagittarius’s polarity point of Gemini to discover the dual nature of belief systems and to illustrate how we must remain open to other ways of thinking, doing, and being–rather than fixating on our own truth as the ONLY truth.

“That Gemini polarity will really tell us where we need to communicate and listen—to consider others’ ideas and beliefs,” she advises. “Mars retrograde in Sagittarius is asking you to slow down and really consider someone else’s perspective and how it reflects on you, and helps you to open up and expand your understandings and your path.”

This is so that “Mars has you walking your talk and standing in your authenticity the best you can–which, in turn, can help us achieve our desires better, and help us move through life easier…we need to ask ourselves: What’s important to me? What is my desire? How do I choose to act? What are my best directions to fulfil my desires?” all the while mindful that there are many ways to take action on any subject.

Mars & Saturn Retro=Frustration…Or Not?

Remember that—with the combination of both Saturn and Mars retrograde at the same time—you may feel like you’re banging your head against the wall, your words are falling on deaf ears, or you’re swimming upstream with the rest of the salmon in a dog-eat-dog (er–fish-eat-fish?) race for survival.

If you experience friction, arguments, setbacks, losses, or seem to take two steps forward and three steps back in your relationships, profession, or vis-à-vis your finances, it’s time to sacrifice getting it done to letting it go…

Saturn’s helping you to wave bye-bye to anyone or anything that will no longer benefit you as you move forward in this lifetime. Mars is assisting you to more clearly define what you believe and how you walk your talk, as Kim Mare says.

When Mars retrogrades back into Scorpio, the story will change, slightly…

Till then, hang in there and here’s some inspiration from James Bey to Let It Go:

“So come on let it go
Just let it be
Why don’t you be you
And I’ll be me

Everything that’s broke
Leave it to the breeze
Why don’t you be you
And I’ll be me

From throwing clothes across the floor
To teeth and claws and slamming doors at you
If this is all we’re living for
Why are we doing it, doing it, doing it anymore?

I used to recognize myself
It’s funny how reflections change
When we’re becoming something else
I think it’s time to walk away

So come on let it go
Just let it be
Why don’t you be you
And I’ll be me

Everything that’s broke
Leave it to the breeze
Let the ashes fall
Forget about me…”

Sun Enters Aries March 20 At Spring Equinox

Posted by Sheri Horn Hasan - March 22, 2016 - Uncategorized

As we approach the Spring Equinox and the Sun enters Aries, it reminds us that this is a time of new birth and growth. Some of us may carry inherently the Aries signature more than others, but we all have it somewhere in our internal make up.

That’s because Aries represents our ability to move freely and without restraint. This energy is present in every physical, mental, emotional, or spiritual movement we make, and exhibits our capability to express our personal will. Aries energy is present every time we take an action, think a thought, express an emotion, and create–and show it to the world as an external manifestation of ourselves.

“Every action needs to be prompted by a motive.” ~ Leonardo da Vinci

It behooves us all to be aware that not only do we have the right to exercise choice as part of our personal will, we also have the obligation to tie that choice that leads to movement—again, be it physical, mental, emotional or spiritual—into alignment with something of greater consequence.

Ergo, we enter the territory of freedom. No sign is more related to the desire to be free than that of Aries. Ruled by the planet Mars, Aries seeks action meaning became more sophisticated over the course of time.

Those who carry a lot of fire in their energetic makeup may perhaps act quickly, jump to conclusions, fight readily, etc. However, the high side meaning of the Aries archetype, ruled by the planet Mars–the warrior, conqueror, hunter, athlete, leader, etc.–is to defend and protect those weaker and more vulnerable.

Originally depicted as Ares, the Greek god of war, he was brutish and prone to being overtaken with an uncontrollable, overwhelming blood lust. He could be cruel and uncaring, driven by the desire to win at all costs.

Totally representative of the physical–of brawn over brains—it was Ares upon whom the Greeks prevailed to help them when they went to war. They were concerned with ensuring they would not face defeat or, worse yet, see their people conquered and ruled by foreigners.

As time progressed, and the great Greek civilization gave way to the power of Rome, Ares morphed into Mars and transformed from the brute overcome by the desire to kill, maim, or slaughter into a more rational figure who might actually have peace as his goal.

Modern western astrology takes its archetypal meaning from a combination of the two, but the Roman Mars is more civilized and less solely reactive than the Greek Ares.

What Does This Mean?

That there’s a higher end and a lower end use of this energy. High end use, as noted, is about exhibiting one’s personal will in order to defend and protect those weaker and more vulnerable.

Low side Mars energy can be the gal with a chip on her shoulder who says (as we do in New York, lol) “what you lookin’ at?” while simultaneously raising her first in a defensive gesture as if to say “come any closer and I’ll punch you in the face!”

Sadly, this is the kind of behavior emanating from presidential candidates these days, and we see shades of this more primitive Ares archetype in people like Donald Trump, currently running for president in the U.S. His Mars placement, right on his Leo Ascendant, makes him feel he has the right to say whatever he wants, but often one can tell that his uber-sensitive inner child is always on guard against an attack.

So what does he do? That’s easy! He attacks first. Because Mars on the Ascendant, in his case at least, seems to translate into his belief that the best defense is a good offense.

So how do we make the best use of our individual Mars’ energy? We act when it’s prudent to do so and we do not react haphazardly.

Let me explain: The Mars archetype is connected to the hunter and warrior because the nature of this archetype is both instinctive and instinctual. Those with a preponderance of Aries energy can move quickly and thereby avert a catastrophe or disaster. That is why this archetype is present in many of our  modern day heroes who serve as firefighters and police who—leaving aside the issue of whether or not they misuse or abuse their positions of authority—are capable of running through the door of a burning building, grabbing a baby from her crib, and dashing out to safety.

This is obvious also with our athletes. Anyone who can achieve great feats of a physical nature is to be applauded because this is a high use of their natal energy. But when it slips over into the territory of aggression, uber-sexuality, or violence (not unheard of, particularly in the realm of sports professionals) we fall back into the ancient Ares archetype, which smacks too much of living on the more primitive level of the past…

Aries energy is with us all the time. For some of us, we may find we move too quickly and need to cultivate restraint. Others find they hesitate too long and do not act quickly enough and an opportunity passes by.

Take a look at your own reaction times. What can help you slow down if necessary or speed up if appropriate? This is not a bad thing to contemplate in this day and age and especially this month until the Sun progresses on April 19 into the calmer, slower sign of Taurus the bull.

Mercury Enters Pisces March 4

Posted by Sheri Horn Hasan - March 5, 2016 - Astrology

Watch Out When Mercury Enters Pisces–Planetary Pileup Ahead!

As Mercury floats downstream into Pisces on March 4, he kicks off a plethora of Piscean energy that dominates this month until the Sun crosses into Aries on March 19.

With the Sun, Chiron, and Neptune already in the sign of the fishes, Mercury joins them now and Venus will waft into Pisces and add to the mix on March 11.

What does this mean?

Piscean energy is about the visual and the emotional—and not necessarily about the verbal talk, talk, talk. What’s important to remember when Mercury follows the Sun into Pisces is that the seeds of our ideas come in visions.

Mercury=Communication, the intellect, the mind

Pisces=Visual, dreamy, ethereal, spiritual, empathic

It’s a time now to tune in to the channels of your higher self, your authentic voice, your muse, and to really listen. And then it’s about translating what you hear, see, or feel into your life in a positive way.

How do you open those channels?

Ah, now you’re asking my favorite question! The best way to deal with all of this oncoming Piscean energy—the archetype of both the PERCEPTION that one is a long-term sufferer of victimization AND/OR a savior or martyr who rescues others—is to CREATE.

Piscean energy is great at creating illusions, so the question becomes what to do with these illusions? The answer is that first one must devise a way to clear the cobwebs and transform these illusions so that we may see things as they really are.

The Good Old Days

Does anyone remember how, in the old movies from the 1930’s and 40’s, when an actor looked at his object of affection—usually a man looking at a woman—the camera’s point of view was used?

They would place a piece of gauze over the lens of the camera during the filming of a close up head shot of the bedazzling female. This had the effect of making her–the object of desire–into a gauzy, floaty, romantic, fantasy-driven image in the eyes of the beholder. And his eyes represented our eyes—the eyes of the audience.

Well, Mercury in Pisces rolls like that.

This energy when Mercury enters Pisces has the capability to manifest as the kind of emotional longing felt by one person for another. Reflected through this camera’s eye and into our minds and hearts this produces in the audience CATHARSIS.

Catharsis=the process of releasing, and thereby providing relief from, strong or repressed emotions.

Why is catharsis important? Well, because it soothes those who need to express such longings in words or images, in music or dance, in poems and love songs, and speaks volumes to those who need the kind of emotional release inherent in the hearing or seeing of these images, words, or music.

Creativity & Choice When Mercury Enters Pisces

Those who carry a lot of Piscean energy seek a higher spiritual reality. They are born meditators. What they may not know is that their definition of “meditation” may differ from the norm.

Words synonymous with meditation include: contemplation, musing, reflection, pondering, and reverie, among others.

Anytime you are engaged—not only in sitting cross-legged on the floor chanting “om,” but also in the act of prayer or some kind of creative endeavor—you are meditating. You may even find you meditate best when you are moving, i.e., exercising, driving, dancing, doing the dishes, whatever…

And when you are engaged in this way—even if it seems too simple to be true, or as if actual meditation should be harder—you are opening and clearing a channel to the divine realm.

One of the best ways to open and tune into that channel as Mercury enters Pisces is through the act of creativity. Again, this is a word that doesn’t have to be fraught with grandiose ambition or carry with it great difficulty to be achieved successfully.

Rather, all it takes is to allow yourself to dream during those moments of mindless occupation when your mind is free to wander wherever it will…this is what brings us all closer to our true divine spirit, and what ultimately allows us to engage in the romance, beauty, lyricism, and poetic nature of what we see, hear, or feel in and through our mind’s eye.

Once this channel is opened and understand more clearly what is coming through, then we may engage in the act of creativity…and the resulting catharsis from such creative engagement not only soothes the soul, but allows for the release of any victim/martyr tendencies held within.

Filling Your Well From Within

During this March planetary pileup in Pisces, what the Piscean archetype really asks us to do is to fill our well of love from within, a.k.a., to practice self-love.

One of the strongest and most positive ways to do this is not to long for the elusive love of the object d’esire after whom you may quest, not to play the victim OR the martyr. These are the pitfalls of the archetypal energy of Pisces.

However these pitfalls are easily avoided when one can release one’s creative longings through the process of creative engagement, and translate them into something concrete.

When you connect directly to the divine realm and listen and hear your higher self and your authentic voice, it’s this higher self and authentic voice that will guide you to create whatever you choose.

And what comes out loud and clear through your creations—whatever form they may ultimately take–is the outpouring of that part of your Piscean nature that longs to connect to the rest of the world in the most positive fashion…

The resulting catharsis–for both you and your audience–not only strengthens your connection to all of human kind, it wipes away fantasy-driven illusion and replaces it with the understanding that love is simple…and that self-love merely requires the expression of pent up emotions previously given no outlet and no voice…

In other words, love is homegrown–it emanates first from within through the act of creative self-expression, and is then reflected back to us through the eyes, minds, and hearts of others…

Virgo Full Moon February 22

Posted by Sheri Horn Hasan - February 22, 2016 - Astrology
The Virgo Full Moon brings a little discernment, a little clarity, a little organization to our chaos.

She reminds us that out of chaos the universe was born. That out of chaos primordial Haldane Soup gave way–when the spark of life was introduced—to an evolutionary process that ultimately gave birth to Mother Earth herself.

In short, the Virgo Full Moon reminds us that out of chaos comes clarity.
However, if you think you were supposed to be born with total clarity you are more than likely mistaken. It takes time for most of us to muddle through the meaning of our early lives and to put the metaphorical and concrete meanings of these events and experiences into some kind of coherent chronological, archetypal, psychological perspective.

Pisces energy is primordial, and the polarity between Virgo and Pisces is like the process of cooking the stew from which the ultimate meal is made. Initially what goes into that stew can be perceived as a random confusing hodge-podge of ingredients.

However, when the stew’s ingredients are blended together–transported from refrigerator to stove to table, & transposed from raw to fully cooked–only then are we able to serve up a nutritiously delicious fortifying meal.
From Chaos May Come Our Dancing Star!
The challenge is to find meaning in the Piscean archetype even though it’s often a muddled, confused, chaotic, swirling mess—like the finger painting by a child who can “see” the entire scene he’s depicting in his mind’s eye, but who’s creation does not actually explain itself…

How do we find meaning in this? We go to Virgo.

Virgo is an earth sign. It represents health, service, servitude, and our daily routine as it relates to the 6th House in our charts. Ruled by Mercury, Virgo has to do with what our intellect makes of the information it’s collected from different sources. Virgo is the portion of Mercury energy that processes this information, categorizes it, slots it into the appropriate file folders, then synthesizes and analyzes it in in order to draw a conclusion.

Virgo asks us to cite our sources, name our experts, quantify and qualify our experiments and keep track of their results. Yes, she can be a harsh task mistress, but she’s only trying to introduce to us the concept that we must back up our suppositions with fact.

It’s our Virgo energy that says: “Well, that’s an interesting idea…how do you think it would work in the real world? Can you show me some proof?” Once analyzed, this information can be instrumental in providing perspective to determine if a dream, vision, or plan will prove possible or impossible to implement.
Release Self-Criticism, Practice Discernment
The shadow side of Virgo energy can be ultra-perfectionism. But when the Full Moon shines its light on the Sun in Pisces, it introduces to the Piscean archetype its alter-ego energy, which says: “Wait. Stop. Have you vetted that idea through the logical process? Have you set it down on paper? Tested It out in the real world to see if the idea really will fly?”

In this way, the Virgo Full Moon urges us to release any ultra-perfectionist tendencies that ultimately do not serve our higher good. We may use our good judgment and objective analysis, but NOT to beat ourselves up with self-criticism!

This Virgo Full Moon may have a tough job to do this month because it opposes not only the Sun in Pisces but Neptune in Pisces as well. The Sun will then move forward to join with Neptune, the planet of confusion, illusion, and delusion on February 29.

Our dreams now may be chaotic, confusing, disorganized, seemingly prophetic, and potentially healing. Visions that reveal neither place nor time may be dismissed as unrealistic because they don’t fit nicely–yet–into the whole big picture jig saw puzzle of life.

However, the Virgo Full Moon asks: do your dreams, visions, and thoughts stand up to the test of manifest reality? Or, like many visions, are they simply ephemeral daydreams, mirages destined to evaporate the closer we seem to get to them?

She reminds us to evaluate, not necessarily eliminate, our dreams and visions—as they are still in their raw form, not yet analyzed as possible or impossible, practical or impractical…the Virgo Moon merely casts a sliver of light—a spotlight if you will—on the higher potential nature of such Piscean possibilities, which is that out of chaos clarity may be born…

So, if you are of a Piscean nature and your visions and dreams lead you to yearn for something more in this world—such as the perfect love, the perfect poem, the perfect anything—you’ll be tremendously assisted by the realization that such a perfect love or creation, once it stands the test of Virgoan scrutiny, may well survive in the more literal, physical world.

Remember, out of clarity comes…well, whatever you’ve been dreaming about—as long as you release any negative Virgo tendency toward self-criticism, and add a little practical, detail-oriented, analytic Virgo energy to your stew…

Mercury Re-Enters Aquarius February 13

Posted by Sheri Horn Hasan - February 13, 2016 - Astrology
You may recall—as Mercury re-enters Aquarius on February 13–that the messenger of the gods already had a rather brief dalliance in Aquarius.

That was just after the New Year, from January 2 until Mercury stationed retrograde on January 5 and headed back into the sign of Capricorn on January 9 .

Well, he’s baaaaaaaack!

What happens when the archetypal representative of communication, siblings, local business, transportation, near neighborhood, extended family, and early childhood learning—flies into the forward-thinking, humanitarian sign of Aquarius?

Well, the combo of Mercury & Aquarius is one of the best for thoughts that move with the rapidity of an electric impulse through the brain and down the spinal cord. This neuro-electricity conducts messages from brain to mouth, or to other parts of the body, and the body responds.

How Can We Put This Energy To Best Use?

We’ve already discussed that Aquarius is an energy filled with the potential for aha! moments and revelations. When they come, they come quickly. How can we not lose them in the hurried pace of our everyday lives?

Hmm…well, here’s one trick I’ve recently discovered. I carry an mp3 recorder with me when I go out in order to capture my thoughts when I’m on the move, walking, in the car, etc. I find this to be extremely helpful because you know how it goes: you can write an entire novel in the shower but as soon as you step out to dry yourself off–poof!–the idea vanishes into the mist…

How can you capture these aha! moments best? In any way that fits into your schedule, I say. You can also keep a notebook or a pad by your bedside and jot down notes before going to sleep or immediately upon awakening. A recorder is even better but of course you have to transcribe it.

The good news? There’s software out there to help you do this–and it’s free! There’s Audacity and others–a quick google search–computers, after all, correlate with Aquarius energy–can prove useful in your research.

Which brings me to another point. Anyone notice the recent news about the discovery of gravitation waves in the universe? The ones that prove Einsteins’s 100 year-old theory of relativity is not just a theory?

Aquarius energy represents science, technology, computers, and also astrology. When Mercury transits through this sign perhaps it’s time for a computer upgrade?

Or maybe thinking about or searching for a new way to communicate through your technology, such as the one I just mentioned—finding a way to transcribe your tapes without having to do it yourself or pay someone else.

Or how about taking up the study of astrology? Stranger things have happened when Mercury flies through Aquarius!

Feel Free To Do Your Own Thing!

Aquarians prize above all else their freedom. The true Aquarius nature is in somebody who requires freedom to be able to think independently. And because so much of their thinking is often about the betterment of mankind, which is to say humanitarian, he or she needs to be able to roam freely in their mind in order to come up with new outside-the-box solutions to old problems.

Aquarius energy is also extremely innovative.

So go forth and innovate, I say. Those who are resistant to change won’t like it. And those who are in positions of power–who are resistant to change–definitely won’t like it.

Contemplate this: is it time to think about making a change where you’re not always bucking up against the powers that be, where you have the capability to be and do and think freely? Where you may implement what you want without the naysayers gathering around you in a circle, looking at you perplexed or confused–or worse yet, with disdain.

That’s what makes Aquarius feel like the outsider. When the group comes down hard on you because they simply can’t see the possibilities that you’ve envisioned so clearly in your mind’s eye as the light bulb went on.

And it’s the testing of these ideas, through our conviction about and/or commitment to them, that provides us the ability to put aside our concerns about what other people will think–i.e., that we’re crazy–that helps give form and shape to these concepts.

So from now until March 5–when Mercury moves on to the sign of Pisces–I wanna see you be brave and do your own thing!

Mars Enters Scorpio January 3

Posted by Sheri Horn Hasan - January 3, 2016 - Astrology

When Mars enters Scorpio it’s a wham bam, thank you ma’am, full speed ahead kind of energy! If you’re not careful, you might not know what hit you…

Listen Up & Look Out!

When the planet of personal will—Mars=I AM—transits through the sign of transformation at all costs, death & rebirth, change or be changed—we’ve got quite a potentially combustible combination.

Don’t forget that in traditional astrology—way before the planet Pluto was discovered in 1930—Mars ruled Scorpio. Hence, to say this is very strong energy would be an understatement…

The purpose of Mars in our charts is to aid and abet the Sun in achieving its highest potential in this lifetime. In the sign of Scorpio, Mars calls us to look at where we’ve become disempowered in ways that do not allow us to move or express ourselves freely.

No Pain, No Gain

No pain, no gain, is a Mars in Scorpio kind of attitude.

There is a huge amount of power behind the nuclear nature of the planet of the warrior, athlete, & hero when it transits through the sign ruled by the god of the underworld and all things intense, hidden, taboo, and unconscious.

The motivation to dig deeply into your subconscious to identify patterns that cause you to act or move in certain ways throughout life—patterns that you might not want to repeat going forward!–is at hand.

When Mars enters Scorpio, an important question arises: How much of an opportunity is this for you to leave behind the victim and/or perpetrator mentality and transform it into energy that defends and protects those who are weaker and less able to protect and defend themselves?

While there’s a call to transform ourselves in areas where we previously felt unable to speak, move, act, or think freely, Mars in Scorpio’s full speed ahead, pedal to the metal, it’s too late to turn back now, forward thrust energy provides us with the momentum necessary push through to gain the kind of personal transformation desired.

In short, there’s ample wind behind our sails to accomplish our aims…

So Mars in Scorpio can be quite an exciting time if one chooses to think of it this way…

Now—until March 5 (and when Mars retrogrades back into Scorpio on May 28 & stays there until August 3)—you’ll doubtless be presented with opportunities to identify, unearth, & excavate these unconscious patterns. Only then may you bring them forward into the light so you can examine them, keep what you want, ditch the rest, and forge a new path going forward!

 Sex & Money

Negative manifestations of this transit can be intense sexual attraction (including to the point of obsession), uber-impatience & irritability, and manipulation, particularly in the sexual and financial realms.

Lower end Mars in Scorpio energies include: gratuitous sex with no emotional involvement; coveting another’s wife/girlfriend, boyfriend/husband, money/possessions, etc.–i.e., jealous, jealousy, jealousy…

Not the way to go or in your soul’s best interest as you attempt to move forward into greater consciousness!

So watch your heart and your wallet (or as my Capricorn mother used to say, your “pocketbook”), lest you mistake lust for love or money for happiness…

Remember, too, whatever is visited now in terms of these energies may be re-visited when Mars retrogrades back in Scorpio next spring & summer.

No need to resist the motivation to go deep about just about anything, but specifically about the inner workings of your own psyche, so that you may bring to light any hidden desires, jealousies, and/or passions.

Think of Mars’ time in Scorpio like that of a giant bulldozer, or earth digger, plunging deep into the ground to bring into the light the rubble that, when sifted through, will reveal the precious bits of metal hidden in the earth…

Move Mountains, Work A Miracle

Scorpio energy also has a lot to do with loyalty because Scorpio is a fixed sign that allows us to forge the iron bonds of trust with another human being.

This kind of trust is not lightly broken and is one of the reasons why revenge is a dish best served cold according to Mars in Scorpio when the Mars person has been betrayed or otherwise hoodwinked by another.

“I can move mountains
I can work a miracle, work a miracle
Keep you like an oath
May nothing but death do us part…”
Fall Out Boy

When Mars enters Scorpio, the choice is yours: You can set off the nuclear bomb and destroy the mountain or you can put your shoulder into it, work that miracle, and MOVE the mountain…

Namaste…

Cancer Full Moon December 25

Posted by Sheri Horn Hasan - December 25, 2015 - Astrology

The Cancer Full Moon, occurring as the Sun is in Capricorn (a Full Moon is always opposite the sign the Sun is currently passing through), highlights for us two archetpyally opposite energies and asks us to integrate them.

Capricorn energy, ruled by the planet Saturn, represents the more patriarchal authoritarian parent, or the father.

Cancer energy, on the other hand, ruled by the Moon, is the sign of the mother, and represents matriarchal energy.

Gender is unimportant, as these are archetypal energies that represent both the father & mother energies within us all.

When the Sun moved into the sign of Capricorn on December 21 in accordance with the Winter Solstice, it entered the sign most connected to responsibility & authority.

Becoming Your Own Best Parent

There is no greater responsibility (regardless of what many may think) than becoming one’s own best authority, a.k.a., one’s own best parent.

Carl Jung coined the terms “anima” & “animus” to represent the feminine & masculine energies present within the psyche of every individual.

Anima & animus energies exist within in us all, but the degree to which we each manifest our masculine and feminine energies out in the world can differ greatly–again, regardless of our actual gender.

In much of today’s society, masculine energy is associated with the empirical, concrete, manifest nature of the world around us. In other words, if we can see it then we can believe it.

The sign of Capricorn is derived from the myth of the sea goat who made his way onto land. This sea goat has the torso of a goat, but the tail of a fish.

It serves as a metaphor to remind us all that no matter how aligned we are with earth energy, no matter how ambitious, goal-oriented, or successful we seek to be, we must always be mindful of our more intuitive emotional nature.

This, in turn, allows us to become cognizant of why we are oriented toward any particular goal & what measure of emotional satisfaction achievement of this goal will actually bring…

Finding Capricorn Balance In The Cancer Full Moon

Capricorn energy is about going out into the world to SUCCEED!

Cancer energy is about staying home where it’s SAFE.

The Cancer archetype represents family, mother, roots, tradition, security, the past, and home…and one’s psychological roots may be traced back to home life in one’s formative years…

Often, what drives a Capricorn-oriented individual toward success in the outer world is her psychological roots.

This Cancer Full Moon highlights the difference between your inner world and your outer one, and calls you to reconcile the two so there is greater harmony within.

Was family life loving? Protective? Did it enhance your security or create insecurity?

It’s no secret that many of us carry the scars of early life forward into our later years. The question is whether or not we recognize this fact.

Freeing ourselves from the emotional pull of the past when the past no longer serves in our quest to move forward is tough…Maybe the toughest lesson we’ll ever have to learn…

Pink Floyd’s lyrics to the song “Mother” sum it up nicely:

“Hush now, baby, baby, don’t you cry
Mama’s gonna make all of your nightmares come true
Mama’s gonna put all of her fears into you
Mama’s gonna keep you right here under her wing
She won’t let you fly but she might let you sing
Mama’s gonna keep baby cozy and warm…

…Of course Mama’s gonna help build the wall…”

What Beliefs Can You Release On The Full Moon?

Full Moons are about release, and today’s Cancer Full Moon casts light on the dichotomy between our ego and our emotions.

This Cancer Full Moon highlights also the polarity between becoming one’s own best adult parent or authority and that uber-sensitivity that can cause one to feel extremely emotionally vulnerable.

It asks us to contemplate where we might need to shed some of our current beliefs—originally based on our emotional past–in order to make room to let in new, modified thoughts centered on our ability to grow into our own best inner authority or parent.

When we cannot reveal our true selves to others, we lose the potential connection of emotional intimacy.

And when our goal is to protect ourselves emotionally or to need someone else to always take care of us, then we are clinging to Capricorn’s shadow side…

Why not release those thoughts and philosophies which no longer work toward your highest good and/or prevent your growth in consciousness?

This is what today’s Cancer Full Moon is calling to us to do!

Sun Enters Scorpio October 23

Posted by Sheri Horn Hasan - October 25, 2015 - Astrology

As the Sun enters Scorpio, want a quick way to figure out if someone carries Scorpio energy?

Ok, then here’s a tip: Ask them a question…

Yup, that’s what I said: Ask them a question!

If they answer with a question–then bingo!–you’ve identified them as Scorpionic…

Here’s an example:

Stranger: “Hi, what’s your name?”

Scorpio: “Who wants to know?”

The Scorpio archetype is about POWER…

The question then becomes: Is one empowered or dis-empowered?

Still Waters Run Deep

Intense, obsessive, deep, private, emotionally volatile, and transformative sum up this archetype.

Scorpio is the sign most interested in going deep, investigating anything deemed to be secret, taboo, socially unacceptable, risque, or otherwise inappropriate?

If you possess Scorpio energy, you might have been the kid who loved to pick up a rock and check out all the wriggling worms clinging to its bottom as you lifted it high above the ground…

…or perhaps you always want to know what makes someone or something tick…

Getting to the bottom of things is what Scorpio energy is all about!

For that reason they love to probe, prod, push, and persevere…never content with trite or superficial information or knowledge, those who carry this energy prefer to excavate it all, every last bit of dirt, dust, and dung, so they can sift through it all and find what they seek: the inner gold!

Change Or Be Changed

Pluto, named for the Roman god of the underworld (the Greeks knew him as Hades), was in charge of the portion of the world where spirits (also known as “shades”) dwell after the soul had left their physical body, i.e., upon death.

Therefore, Scorpio energy carries with it the connotation of all things having to do with death…

But this energy comes complete with the innate knowledge that death is necessary, because in order for something to be born, something must die. Such is the transformational cycle of death & rebirth.

The Scorpio archetype revolves around this need to transform; to not leave things the same as they were before.

And how does this happen?

By understanding that one must allow the old to die in order to make room for the new to be born.

Those who carry Scorpionic energy in their energetic make up are primed to understand the cycle of death and rebirth because without such transformation the universe would be a stagnant, stuck, boring kind of place.

“You Are Very Powerful, Provided You Know How Powerful You Are.” ~ Yogi Bhaja

So, back to the question of empowerment…

We all–at some point in life, be it early or later, are called to step into our own power.

When this happens, be it through the bully on the playground who demands our lunch money on a daily basis, or via other controlling influences or people in life, the universe presents us with one of our karmic choices.

When we’ve finally had enough and we haul off and belt the bully, who scampers away yelping like a wounded dog…

…we find–to our amazement!–that he was really a coward all along and not the powerful one AT ALL…

Likewise, when we consistently and consciously reject the call to empowerment and acquiesce again and again to what we deem to be the safer route to assure our continued existence, the reverse situation exists…

The Scorpio archetype knows full well that the latter kind of existence–when prolonged–can suck your soul down the drain with a quick flush, over and over again like a surreal moment in time replayed continuously…

To mire oneself in that unending vortex is to move karmically in the wrong direction.

We Must Travel In The Direction Of Our Fear.” ~ John Berryman

Self-empowerment stems from self-love, and the inherent notion that no one can take from us that which we really truly own.

Back to the playground: “You’re not the boss of me!” we may have cried out to the bully when we’d finally had enough and our instincts kicked in and we decided to fight even if it mean we could die…

And death it always was–to the old way…

Many of us face these kinds of crossroads over and over again in life, depending on our energetic makeup. But one thing is true: once empowered, there’s no going back!

We may become empowered all at once and thus our future trajectory is changed unalterably going forward…

…or we may be propelled forward little by little, day by day–as in the case of physical or mental illness when our steps toward empowerment need to be slow and measured for best results.

Either way, moving in the direction of that which we fear most represents true Scorpionic energy because such movement represents the capability to transform ourselves into the empowered beings we are all meant to be!

The highest form of Scorpio archetypal energy is represented by the Phoenix who rises from the ashes to be born anew so that he may soar high above–up and away from lowly control-based, power-obsessed energy.

Only then may one look down from the heavens and truly and objectively view the truth…
