Aries New Moon: The Instinct For Survival
Another New Moon is upon us and it’s a biggie! This Aries New Moon is not only about new beginnings—which you should see the culmination of in about six months—but about the will to survive as well…
The Aries archetype is all about survival in the sense that one has to fight one’s way out his or her mother’s womb in order to be born. if you really think about it, the tremendous amount of energy it takes to burst forth out of the peaceful uroboric waters of the womb into the birth canal and out of your mother’s body, you’ll begin to get what I mean!
But what is it that tells us it’s the right time to go from our blissfully unaware state of pre-birth and propel ourselves out in the cold harshly lit outside world—a world in which, as humans, we are unable to fend for ourselves without our mother’s care?
Simple: It’s INSTINCT!
So Aries energy, particularly prevalent in the universe at this Aries New Moon—and in your life, depending on into what house of your natal chart it falls—is about proactive energy and about having the energy and will not only to survive but to thrive…
Pluto & Uranus: Still Doing Their Square Dance
New Moons are always times to set your intentions for the month. In this case, you may set them for the next six months in order to really be able to continue on your path, regardless of any bombardment of universal energies you may experience personally between now and then.
Because this Aries New Moon meets up with Uranus in Aries and squares Pluto in Capricorn, it’s likely effects will factor into how you’re handling the Pluto/Uranus energies that have dominated the heavens (and thus our lives here on Earth) since at least 2012…
This square’s energies are prevalent everywhere you look: from the Arab Spring uprising in the Middle East to Ferguson, Missouri (and the Black Lives Matter movement), from the Syrian refugee crisis to the breakdown in infrastructure worldwide (but particularly here in the U.S.), and more…
These are the forces of revolution vs. the status quo, anti-change, clinging to a “business as usual” mentality, at all costs.
So how to navigate such energies?
If you’ve been hit personally by the energies of the Pluto/Uranus square (meaning they’ve touched sensitive planetary or natal chart points as part of your energetic makeup) you probably know it by now…
Such energies may have included, but are not limited to: loss (or gain) of a job, money, and/or relationship (including loss through death.) Loss is usually about the need for transformation.
And when sudden events derail or propel us, often they are the result of our need for change that’s risen to such a point that a crisis occurs in order for the universe to get us in touch with our soul’s true desire for change.
When death (either literal or figurative in the form of endings) occurs in one’s life, this external manifestation reflects changes occurring in our own internal energies. Resistance to such changes usually makes it tougher to adjust and may simply delay the inevitable…
Changes—be they deemed negative or positive in our lives initially–are always about moving our soul forward for the purpose of living our lives to their highest potential in this lifetime.
So What Are Your Intentions?
If they’re about something new—bravo! Plant that seed and go for it! If they’re connected to an ongoing or already established project or work, then keep on keepin’ on–especially if you’ve already had a modicum of success and are attempting to build on that.
The important thing to know is that not only is this Aries New Moon conjoining Uranus in Aries and squaring Pluto in Capricorn, but it’s trining Saturn as well. A trine is what we astrologers call an “easy” aspect.
Saturn is the planet of hard work. Saturn helps us move slowly and cautiously, and think accurately with an eye toward manifestation. This trine is likely to make it easier for us to do some of the necessary work without experiencing undue hardship. Think of Saturn like a mentor, a teacher, or a guide, who says to you: “you can do it—slow and steady wins the race.”
However, with Saturn, there’s no free lunch. Under Saturn’s tutelage, you can’t have dessert until you eat your meat (as Pink Floyd liked to say), and you can’t go out to play until you eat your dinner…Saturn can help ground the planting of this new seed…
…even if it’s amidst any turmoil in your life connected to transformation or sudden unexpected change–and the resistance you may feel to such transformation or change.
But if you succumb to the fiery, impatient, impetuousness of this Aries New Moon energy—especially in its conjunction with the “leap before you look” rebelliousness of Uranus in Aries, you may find the foundation upon which you’ve attempted to set your intentions is less than firm.
Far better to allow yourself to believe in any aha! or eureka! moments this Aries New Moon energy brings to you now based on the Sun & Moon’s alignment with Uranus, but to proceed slowly.
Saturn is retrograde until August 13, making this an excellent time for you to be inspired, but remember to move cautiously enough to ensure you’ll ultimately be able to manifest any intentions set now.
When Saturn guides us in this fashion, who are we to ignore him or dispute his wise advice? And this advice shows up in our lives in the events and relationships around us. So if a project gets, waylaid, cut, postponed, or otherwise stuck in the mud, do not despair.
Likewise, if a job or relationship appears to falter or end, it means that it is no longer instrumental to your future growth. This departure will more than likely open up the necessary space for something new–something better!–to come into your life…
Acceptance of Ch-Ch-Ch-Changes: Always Up To You!
The Aries New Moon is a time to dig deeply into the earth (metaphoricallyspeaking) and plant a seed that you know, with the proper tender loving care, will take root. You want it to grow into a sturdy plant that matches your expectation.
So much of astrology is based on cycles. The New Moon and Full Moon cycles occur approximately every 14 days, so the universe provides us with the opportunity to set new intentions, or to reaffirm or reset older intentions, every lunar cycle of 29.5 days.
It’s not now or never, and it never will be, in terms of how the universe guides us toward our best and highest interest in this lifetime should we choose to become aware that our lives are always a matter of our choices.
When we choose to embrace that choice is our right as part of our human, incarnated experience, we leave behind the blame game, the he said/she said, the “but you told me to do it that way ergo I’m not responsible for the outcome.” Likewise, any tendencies to play the martyr and try to save everyone–which may or may not, in the end, be in your best interest–can fall by the wayside.
Embracing the kind of change inherent in this Aries New Moon energy includes having the courage to follow your instinct. Making a choice, even if it’s an instinctual one, can propel us out into the world and allow us to leave behind the security of the womb so that we may LIVE.
(And here is where this New Moon’s trine to Saturn has your back, assuring you it won’t be as hard as you might think.)
Once planted, the seed must be nurtured, and the intentions affirmed on an ongoing basis—utilizing the clarity of that trine to Saturn. This enables us to make any necessary changes, or to halt or amend, in the near term what you may be attempting to do in order to have a better, more prosperous and meaningful outcome in the long term.
More Retrogrades in April…
During these next few months–since Saturn’s station retrograde on March 25–we’ll be seeing and feeling more planetary retrogrades. On April 17 Mars begins his long retrograde period, while Saturn continues his retrograde motion untilAugust 13.
Pluto stations retrograde on April 18 until September 26, and in the shorter term, Mercury retrogrades in the sign of Taurus on April 28. Neptune and Chiron will both station retrograde in July.
Typical retrograde energy/behavior looks like this: time to review, re-analyze, rethink, re-plan, re-strategize, revisit (or just about any word you can put “re” in front of that you can think of, lol and that pertains to your specific situation.)
Get used to it, as we’ll experience a lot of it! However, during this period if your hopes, dreams, and wishes appear to be stagnating or moving in the wrong direction, hang tight…
When these planets begin to move direct, one by one, as well as at six months form this Aries New Moon, you’ll begin to feel yourself once again on terra firma, or solid ground.
So go forth and prosper, I say…don’t mistake all of this retrograde energy for true stagnation. Instead, utilize the energy of this Aries New Moon, especially the 48-hour period between now and 7:24 a.m. ET on April 9, to make a list of your intentions.
Then meditate on them, pray if you are so inclined, and get out the shovel and spade and plant that metaphorical seed.
When the Sun moves into Taurus on April 19, he may well help gestate that seed with tender loving care. And six months from now you may be singing a different tune–one that bursts forth from inside instinctually!
Life is a continuum, and so it goes…
Another little blast from the past that seemed fitting for this Aries New Moon (complete with retro roller disco dancing!)
“At first I was afraid, I was petrified
Kept thinking I could never live
Without you by my side…
Gloria Gaynor, I Will Survive
…Did you think I’d crumble
Did you think I’d lay down and die?
Oh no, not I
I will survive
As long as I know how to love
I know I’ll stay alive
I’ve got all my life to live
I’ve got all my love to give
And I’ll survive
I will survive…

As we approach the Spring Equinox and the Sun enters Aries, it reminds us that this is a time of new birth and growth. Some of us may carry inherently the Aries signature more than others, but we all have it somewhere in our internal make up.
That’s because Aries represents our ability to move freely and without restraint. This energy is present in every physical, mental, emotional, or spiritual movement we make, and exhibits our capability to express our personal will. Aries energy is present every time we take an action, think a thought, express an emotion, and create–and show it to the world as an external manifestation of ourselves.
“Every action needs to be prompted by a motive.” ~ Leonardo da Vinci
It behooves us all to be aware that not only do we have the right to exercise choice as part of our personal will, we also have the obligation to tie that choice that leads to movement—again, be it physical, mental, emotional or spiritual—into alignment with something of greater consequence.
Ergo, we enter the territory of freedom. No sign is more related to the desire to be free than that of Aries. Ruled by the planet Mars, Aries seeks action meaning became more sophisticated over the course of time.
Those who carry a lot of fire in their energetic makeup may perhaps act quickly, jump to conclusions, fight readily, etc. However, the high side meaning of the Aries archetype, ruled by the planet Mars–the warrior, conqueror, hunter, athlete, leader, etc.–is to defend and protect those weaker and more vulnerable.
Originally depicted as Ares, the Greek god of war, he was brutish and prone to being overtaken with an uncontrollable, overwhelming blood lust. He could be cruel and uncaring, driven by the desire to win at all costs.
Totally representative of the physical–of brawn over brains—it was Ares upon whom the Greeks prevailed to help them when they went to war. They were concerned with ensuring they would not face defeat or, worse yet, see their people conquered and ruled by foreigners.
As time progressed, and the great Greek civilization gave way to the power of Rome, Ares morphed into Mars and transformed from the brute overcome by the desire to kill, maim, or slaughter into a more rational figure who might actually have peace as his goal.
Modern western astrology takes its archetypal meaning from a combination of the two, but the Roman Mars is more civilized and less solely reactive than the Greek Ares.
What Does This Mean?
That there’s a higher end and a lower end use of this energy. High end use, as noted, is about exhibiting one’s personal will in order to defend and protect those weaker and more vulnerable.
Low side Mars energy can be the gal with a chip on her shoulder who says (as we do in New York, lol) “what you lookin’ at?” while simultaneously raising her first in a defensive gesture as if to say “come any closer and I’ll punch you in the face!”
Sadly, this is the kind of behavior emanating from presidential candidates these days, and we see shades of this more primitive Ares archetype in people like Donald Trump, currently running for president in the U.S. His Mars placement, right on his Leo Ascendant, makes him feel he has the right to say whatever he wants, but often one can tell that his uber-sensitive inner child is always on guard against an attack.
So what does he do? That’s easy! He attacks first. Because Mars on the Ascendant, in his case at least, seems to translate into his belief that the best defense is a good offense.
So how do we make the best use of our individual Mars’ energy? We act when it’s prudent to do so and we do not react haphazardly.
Let me explain: The Mars archetype is connected to the hunter and warrior because the nature of this archetype is both instinctive and instinctual. Those with a preponderance of Aries energy can move quickly and thereby avert a catastrophe or disaster. That is why this archetype is present in many of our modern day heroes who serve as firefighters and police who—leaving aside the issue of whether or not they misuse or abuse their positions of authority—are capable of running through the door of a burning building, grabbing a baby from her crib, and dashing out to safety.
This is obvious also with our athletes. Anyone who can achieve great feats of a physical nature is to be applauded because this is a high use of their natal energy. But when it slips over into the territory of aggression, uber-sexuality, or violence (not unheard of, particularly in the realm of sports professionals) we fall back into the ancient Ares archetype, which smacks too much of living on the more primitive level of the past…
Aries energy is with us all the time. For some of us, we may find we move too quickly and need to cultivate restraint. Others find they hesitate too long and do not act quickly enough and an opportunity passes by.
Take a look at your own reaction times. What can help you slow down if necessary or speed up if appropriate? This is not a bad thing to contemplate in this day and age and especially this month until the Sun progresses on April 19 into the calmer, slower sign of Taurus the bull.
Namaste…Ares, Aries, athlete, energy, fight, hunter, leader, Mars, personal will, physical, Sun, warrior
Lest you’ve become fearful that all of the Piscean energy in the sky right now may make you want to simply drown in your own bathtub as Mars charges into Sagittarius—HOLD ON!
While it’s true that Mercury joined the Sun, Neptune, Chiron, and the South Node in Pisces on March 4—and that Venus will rendezvous with them on March 11–this preponderance of Piscean energy in the sky until March 19 may be tempered somewhat by Mars’ entrance into Sagittarius…
Before you allow yourself to succumb to sitting by the river and watching it all wash away downstream, or to fantasies of rowing out into the ocean in despair, remember that Mars represents the PERSONAL WILL…
When Mars charges into Sagittarius, ruled by the planet Jupiter, he’s got A LOT of potential energy. The kind of energy that represents the wind behind your sails. The kind of energy (forgive me here, guys!) with which a baby propels herself out of the womb and into the world wailing and screaming as she takes her first breath of air…
Remember that Piscean energy loves to play the victim or the martyr. When Mars enters the fray, galloping forward on his Sagittarian steed, sword held high, is he fighting an imaginary foe (like Don Quixote, or, um, some of our Republican presidential candidates), or is he championing a cause for which he has just reason to do so?
The choice is always ours to make. Piscean energy needs to be grounded in order to wipe away the cobwebs of illusion that may perpetuate its need to swim back into the safety of the womb and escape there forever.
When Mars Charges Into Sagittarius Is He For Or Against?
The abundant Piscean energy in the sky right now—at least until the Sun moves into Aries on March 19—is about dreaming and seeding our visions. This will be echoed by the upcoming Pisces New Moon/Solar Eclipse on Tuesday March 8, which may or may not add a jolt of the unexpected to this energy (more about this anon.)
Mars provides us the oomph behind anything we do that involves expressing our personal will, which is to say freedom of choice and movement. Problem is whether or not Mars will come charging in fast and push all that Piscean energy further downstream and over the falls, or whether his strength can be harnessed for something both more powerful and more profitable in terms of expediting karmic soul growth.
Mars in Sag likes to rally behind a cause. Sagittarius is the archetypal energy that CAN represent expansion of consciousness, including expansion of one’s philosophy of life—be that philosophy coalesced around religion, law, and/or education–in an open all-inclusive way.
We may choose to place Mars in charge of testing our dreams’ potential capability for survival in the REAL world, or we may allow the warrior god to defend our victim or savior status quo stance…
POSITIVE USE OF MARS IN SAGITTARIUS
Positive Use of Mars In Sagittarius
High side use of Mars in Sagittarius energy could be implementing the desire to learn more, expand one’s philosophical environs, entertain others’ ideas, and to corral the current Piscean energy in a way that allows it to flow in the most positive of directions: self-love.
Or, Mars might just as easily rally to the cause of keeping one’s ears plugged while humming a tune in order to block out hearing others’ points of views or philosophies. In this case, he’d work against the all that Piscean energy right now by simply buying into it and pushing it into a pit of sorrow where one might wallow in one’s despair or perceived victimization.
Should we find that Mars moves some of us quickly in the direction of rigidly defending our philosophies, rather than providing us with the internal strength to entertain ideas other than our own, we might want to consider how we came to believe these ideas in the first place…
Mars’ entrance into Sagittarius now may aid us to jettison our woundedness in terms of our externally influenced belief system in order to build from an even stronger foundation of core beliefs–eventually.
Mars hops into the Sagittarian saddle until May 27, when he reenters Scorpio again (after stationing retrograde @ 8 degrees Sagittarius on April 17. He will spend an inordinately long time in Scorpio–where he will be asking for transformation again–but more on that another time…)
So where does it benefit each of us most to use our incredible reserves of martial strength to move us forward in our lives in positive ways–including toward better understanding our own beliefs? And, all the while, how can we be mindful of whether these beliefs rest upon Piscean illusions, Jupiterian/Sagittarian ideals, or a more reality-based integration of the two?
Anything less than this kind of questioning now may represent Mars’ trampling of others’ beliefs in the name of occupying the title the world’s greatest victim or martyr. Each of us decides his or her own fate–the universe simply provides continuous opportunities for such choices to be made…and right now we’re being given one of them…
“There’s no time to lose, I heard her say
Catch your dreams before they slip away
Dying all the time
Lose your dreams
And you will lose your mind…”

In the dark of this Aquarius New Moon, we are called to plant the seeds of our revelations. The ones that maybe you’ve not dared to tell people or share with others, the ones that–if given voice, structure, and a platform–might actually be brilliant!
And if they’re not for everyone, so be it.
When a revelation arrives fully blown in our minds, it’s as if a light bulb has snapped on, illuminating instantly what before was completely hidden—or in the dark.
Possibility is born through revelation. And revelation hits when it hits–which is to say, often unexpectedly.
Our job is simply to recognize it when it does hit.
Once I Was Blind But Now I See
Seeds of advancement, seeds of change…seeds of allowing the ideas that arrive “a priori” into the mind to be tested and found possible.
At this Aquarius New Moon we’re going to be asked to test our aha! moments out in real life. Up until that aha! eureka! moment we weren’t 100% sure that our hypothesis or postulate was provable.
When we allow ourselves to think outside the box, to not get bogged down by our fears, our prejudices, our insecurities, think what life would be like!
What if we all had faith in our beliefs to the point where we are unafraid to express our differences?
If we poo-poo, nay say, or doubt it away, how can we ever know if these revelations can stand the test of time when put to the test?
So in the dark of this Aquarius New Moon, plant the seeds of these revelations.
Aquarian energy is about the tribe, the group, and–by extension– the community. It’s also about our friends, and our hopes, dreams, & wishes.
How can we have hopes, dreams, and wishes if they simply lie dormant, never to be struck by the spark of lightning or the flicker of a match? As that’s what’s needed to bring these ideas, hopes, dreams to life–into their full blown glory, into a raging fire.
“High” Mars Energy Vs. “Low” Mars Energy
Mars squaring this Aquarius New Moon (when the Sun and the Moon meet up in the sky and set the stage for the tone of the next two weeks until the Full Moon occurs and she once again begins to wane in preparation for the next New Moon) provides its energy with extra oomph!
Our hearts and minds are now in alignment because the two luminaries are together at this precise moment of the Aquarius New Moon in the sky. This helps us give birth to the impetus we have behind our ideas, projects, philosophies, etc.
So we must push past the frustration in which Mars square this Aquarius New Moon may result, without succumbing to it. Rather let’s use this energy and put the wind behind our sails in order to benefit most from it…
We must try to use the unifying strength of being on the same continuum–both mentally & emotionally, ego & soul, mind & heart–so that we may lift the brightness of our ideas (illuminated under that revelatory flash of lightning!) into something real, manifest, concrete, and capable of lasting.
Using Mars energy in a way that accentuates and defines the “high” side of Mars–as motivation, ambition, assertion–rather than the “low” side of Mars—aggression, uber-sexuality, and violence–can only work in our favor now…
So, hold your torches high. If they are for the purpose of lighting your way, and the way of others–and not to harm, hurt, cheat, or in any other way use this martial energy negatively–they may be used to galvanize—to forge in steel, so to speak—these reflationary & revolutionary ideas in order to manifest them.
Write that article, work on that book manuscript, create that software, paint that painting, sing that song, dance that dance, enjoy, and most of all, do it in your own unique way…because individual expression is part of the Aquarian archetype as long as the motive is high-minded and in the best interests of the community or the world or humankind at large..
So, what is our idea and how do we make it manifest?
Remember that Aquarius is not only ruled by the planet Uranus in modern astrology, but traditionally by the planet Saturn, which represents structure within the group.
When we utilize both sides of the archetypal meaning of the sign of Aquarius we have the capability to not only recognize these ideas that arrive whole into our brains, but we find a way to concretize them by bringing them down to earth and actually testing them within the group.
Warning: It is of course possible for those of a distinct Aquarian nature to go a little too far.
Aquarius is an air sign—hence rational, thoughtful, objective–capable on the negative side of the spectrum of becoming too fixed in its ideas.
So when one who carries an abundance of Aquarius energy believes she has truth with a capital “T” I wholeheartedly recommend that she take a step back, particularly on the eve of this Aquarius New Moon, and redefine for herself the who, what, where, how, and when’s of her conclusions.
Aquarius is also a fixed sign, so expressing your ideas with conviction is all well and good. Just make sure you put your hypothesis to the test and that it indeed is capable of surviving this test not only to benefit YOU but to make life better for us all…
advancement, aha!, Aquarius, change, eureka, Mars, new moon, plant, revelation, seeds
When Mars enters Scorpio it’s a wham bam, thank you ma’am, full speed ahead kind of energy! If you’re not careful, you might not know what hit you…
Listen Up & Look Out!
When the planet of personal will—Mars=I AM—transits through the sign of transformation at all costs, death & rebirth, change or be changed—we’ve got quite a potentially combustible combination.
Don’t forget that in traditional astrology—way before the planet Pluto was discovered in 1930—Mars ruled Scorpio. Hence, to say this is very strong energy would be an understatement…
The purpose of Mars in our charts is to aid and abet the Sun in achieving its highest potential in this lifetime. In the sign of Scorpio, Mars calls us to look at where we’ve become disempowered in ways that do not allow us to move or express ourselves freely.
No Pain, No Gain
No pain, no gain, is a Mars in Scorpio kind of attitude.
There is a huge amount of power behind the nuclear nature of the planet of the warrior, athlete, & hero when it transits through the sign ruled by the god of the underworld and all things intense, hidden, taboo, and unconscious.
The motivation to dig deeply into your subconscious to identify patterns that cause you to act or move in certain ways throughout life—patterns that you might not want to repeat going forward!–is at hand.
When Mars enters Scorpio, an important question arises: How much of an opportunity is this for you to leave behind the victim and/or perpetrator mentality and transform it into energy that defends and protects those who are weaker and less able to protect and defend themselves?
While there’s a call to transform ourselves in areas where we previously felt unable to speak, move, act, or think freely, Mars in Scorpio’s full speed ahead, pedal to the metal, it’s too late to turn back now, forward thrust energy provides us with the momentum necessary push through to gain the kind of personal transformation desired.
In short, there’s ample wind behind our sails to accomplish our aims…
So Mars in Scorpio can be quite an exciting time if one chooses to think of it this way…
Now—until March 5 (and when Mars retrogrades back into Scorpio on May 28 & stays there until August 3)—you’ll doubtless be presented with opportunities to identify, unearth, & excavate these unconscious patterns. Only then may you bring them forward into the light so you can examine them, keep what you want, ditch the rest, and forge a new path going forward!
Sex & Money
Negative manifestations of this transit can be intense sexual attraction (including to the point of obsession), uber-impatience & irritability, and manipulation, particularly in the sexual and financial realms.
Lower end Mars in Scorpio energies include: gratuitous sex with no emotional involvement; coveting another’s wife/girlfriend, boyfriend/husband, money/possessions, etc.–i.e., jealous, jealousy, jealousy…
Not the way to go or in your soul’s best interest as you attempt to move forward into greater consciousness!
So watch your heart and your wallet (or as my Capricorn mother used to say, your “pocketbook”), lest you mistake lust for love or money for happiness…
Remember, too, whatever is visited now in terms of these energies may be re-visited when Mars retrogrades back in Scorpio next spring & summer.
No need to resist the motivation to go deep about just about anything, but specifically about the inner workings of your own psyche, so that you may bring to light any hidden desires, jealousies, and/or passions.
Think of Mars’ time in Scorpio like that of a giant bulldozer, or earth digger, plunging deep into the ground to bring into the light the rubble that, when sifted through, will reveal the precious bits of metal hidden in the earth…
Move Mountains, Work A Miracle
Scorpio energy also has a lot to do with loyalty because Scorpio is a fixed sign that allows us to forge the iron bonds of trust with another human being.
This kind of trust is not lightly broken and is one of the reasons why revenge is a dish best served cold according to Mars in Scorpio when the Mars person has been betrayed or otherwise hoodwinked by another.
“I can move mountains
I can work a miracle, work a miracle
Keep you like an oath
May nothing but death do us part…”
Fall Out Boy
When Mars enters Scorpio, the choice is yours: You can set off the nuclear bomb and destroy the mountain or you can put your shoulder into it, work that miracle, and MOVE the mountain…
Namaste…astrology, death, energy, Mars, money, personal will, rebirth, Scorpio, sex, Sun, transformation, trust
Venus & Mars Are Alright Tonight (& Tomorrow Too!)
The second of three meetings this year between these two take place today and tomorrow @14 Leo.
The first was when the planets of love and sex ran side by side @1 Aries on February 21-22, 2015…
The next will take place November 2-3, 2015 @23 & 24 degrees of Virgo.
When Venus, the planet of love, harmony, balance, partnership, serenity, and peace meets up in the sky with Mars, who’s energy is highly sexual, urgent, and motivated, there are bound to be sparks flyin’!
However, Venus is still in retrograde motion (appearing to move backward in the sky) as Mars rocks and rolls over her @14 Leo.
What’s it all mean?
First, when Venus is retrograde, it’s a time to go deep about what you truly value and to get rid of anything that does not jibe with that.
Mars electrifying Venus right now may jolt you into a higher awareness–possibly through your visceral reaction to someone or something in your environment.
For example, if you have been reunited with an old love, a new flame may ignite.
On the other hand, the reintroduction of someone from your past may now illustrate to you how the relationship was purely physical and that this person is not a keeper!
Motivation is high to rid yourself of anything that does not serve to help you fill your own well of self-love & self-esteem from within.
If it seems too good to be true (the Sun has just passed its opposition to Neptune in the sky, & Jupiter is approaching his opposition to Neptune as well), it probably is!
Have fun, but take the time to recognize the outer manifestations of your inner energies! After all, that’s what true consciousness is all about!
If your prince is simply a frog you’ve closed your eyes to kiss (all the while hoping and dreaming), then let him hop on out of your life…
If he’s truly a prince (or she a princess), it will be because you can see beyond their royal attire–and all that you project upon him or her–to the core of the REAL person…
…and know you can love them, warts and all…
And, in the end, that simply illustrates the internal message: self-acceptance, compassion, & the knowledge that you can love yourself warts and all!
As always–but particularly because this conjunction of Mars & Venus takes place in the creative sign of Leo–channel your energies (particularly if you’re experiencing unrequited love, anger, frustration, unresolved sexual tension, longing, etc.) into a creative endeavor.
Doesn’t have to be a big deal, simply concentrate your energies on something that makes you feel alive–be that music, art, dance, film, photography, sculpting, writing, etc.
Translating your passion into creativity helps you exhibit the highest form of self-love, self-esteem, and worthiness. And, it will prove to you that Venus & Mars are alright tonight!
Namaste…Aries, harmony, Leo, love, Mars, motivation, self-love, sex, value, Venus, Virgo
